Colonel Badshot comes 3rd prize in Coventry's MAD UK design competition.

Junkart's creative team designed a costume for the MAD UK section "This Sporting Life" inspired by the Colonial figure of the 'great white hunter' not Captain Bagshot but Colonel Badshot. The Costume was made entirely from recycled materials and comprised of several animals that the colonel would miss as he tried to shoot them. Of course the animals always got the better of him. John Starkey modelled and preformed in the costume and the costume and idea was designed by Kate Morris, John Starkey and Shiam Wilcox.

JUNKART Scrapstore
Recycling for Art
A new opportunity for Artists and creatives to access scrap materials has arisen with the opening of a new scrap-store in Stretton-Under-Fosse, situated midway between Coventry and Rugby.
The scrap-store intends to provide Artists/Makers with a wide variety of materials that will aid them in their practice.
Anything from corks to cardboard, plastic bottles to beads, and lots of recycled materials and unusual items will be available at a reasonable price.
The Scrap-store will be open to individual Artists, community groups and anyone of a creative nature.
It will be part run by sculptress, Shiam Wilcox, Artist in residence alongside Jean and Brian Cockayne who will act as Administrator and Resource manager, respectively.
Alongside the scrap-store the facility also offers studio space to rent for 3 Artists.
To encourage more people to think about waste, the intention is to continue to develop community based projects to raise awareness of environmental issues through art. As part of this there will be regular open studio and art project events.
Shiam, Jean and Brian hope that people will make use of this resource to develop their art practice and add "We are here; Come and visit us".
For further information and membership details contact: Jean 07754787969
